First, let me start by saying that I abhor going to the dentist$0027s office; any dentist. Not in the «ugh, I hate going to the dentist» kind of way, but in the «oh my God I$0027m going to die in the dentist$0027s chair», gut-wrenching, earth-shattering kind of way. Always have. My teeth have always been terrible and I$0027ve never in my life *not* had a cavity or two in my mouth, 4 so far have led to root canals (0/10 stars, do not recommend RCs, avoid at all costs).
Anyway, my first trip to ADA was not a casual «oh, maybe I$0027ll go to the dentist today» visit. My right front tooth was so severely decayed that it broke in half while I was at work. I hadn$0027t been to a dentist in years due to the aforementioned terror. A quick Google search told me that ADA was worth a try. I called, on the verge of tears and was met with Katie$0027s friendly voice. She squeezed me onto the schedule surprisingly quickly. Every interaction that I$0027ve had with her has been pleasant. She remembers me every time I call and she always goes out of her way to accommodate me without ever seeming inconvenienced.
I came in and immediately took note of how clean and modern the office is. Shelby, the lead assistant took me back. I told her how nervous I was and she immediately put me at ease. She has a friendly, inviting demeanor and a great sense of humor. Sharing a few laughs before my dreaded dental work settled my nerves just a little bit.
Then I met Dr. Othman. This man is cool as a cucumber. He is very laid back, calm, and very pleasant to speak with. The nicest guy ever. He$0027s knowledgeable and his finger is on the pulse of dental technology. He works very efficiently but he$0027s also personable and takes time to discuss anything you need more information on. He fixed my tooth and made a plan to get my oral health back on track, prioritizing my most critical areas. He broke things down into bite-sized (no pun intended) chunks so I didn$0027t get too overwhelmed.
I came back soon thereafter for my first routine cleaning in years. Lenia, the hygienist, is nice as can be. She always takes a personal interest in what$0027s going on with me. She always asks «how are things going? Are you doing okay?» And her memory is incredible. I see her twice a year and she somehow remembers minute non-dental-related details from our conversations. She makes me feel important.
Although everything I$0027ve mentioned is grand and certainly makes ADA a great office, there$0027s one detail that has kept me coming back; something that I$0027ve never experienced in any of the other dozen offices I$0027ve been in… *I never leave feeling ashamed*. Every other dentist I$0027ve ever met has treated me as though I got myself into this horrible mess with my teeth and they$0027re going to wag their finger at me while they do me the favor of fixing my teeth. Not ADA. They never make me feel that way. I come in feeling ashamed and overwhelmed. I leave feeling supported and hopeful. They don$0027t treat me as though I$0027ve made a mess that they$0027re having to clean up. Lenia told me today at my cleaning «we$0027re a team and we$0027re going to get through this together. Life happens and that$0027s okay». That$0027s why I$0027ve been coming back for over two years when I$0027d otherwise never been to the same dentist more than twice. I$0027m not trying to say that Dr. Othman and his team made me love going to the dentist. That will never happen. They did, however, make it bearable, which honestly is the best that I could$0027ve ever hoped for. They$0027re truly awesome.

Dr Othman met us at his office (after hours) on a Friday night, to examine my sons mouth and jaw after a baseball injury. He was so kind, professional and honestly concerned. After X-rays he determined his jaw was fractured and handled everything to set up surgery for him. I couldnt have asked for a better experience during a bad situation. He has followed up to check on him and every time I tell him how much we appreciate everything he has done, he replies just doing my job. Ive always despised going to the dentist, but Dr. Othman and his staff at Advanced Dental Arts have honestly changed that. Everyone is so kind and warm, beginning with the lovely receptionist. The hygienist is the most gentle hygienist Ive ever had, no aggressive prodding into my gums, and she taught me a lot about my teeth (I really appreciate being educated about my own body!)
Dr. Othman is incredibly kind and professional, and he is cautious and conservative with recommending treatment, clearly looking out for the best for his patients.
The office has lovely touches such as a floss bar (!!) TVs in the rooms, a genuine mission statement written up in the wall about the importance of education patients about all their treatment options, and lively aesthetic to the whole office.

I would like to recommend Advanced Dental Arts to all those in search of a dentist. I have started going to Dr. Othman from the time when this office opened and continued to do so even since I have moved from Macon. The facility is top notch. The chairs massage you while your teeth are being cleaned. The light that normally blinds you at the dentist does not do so at this office. On top of this, Dr. Othman cares greatly about his patients and treats all patients well and with respect. When you leave you are treated to a floss bar where you can select your favorite dental hygiene products to try out at home.

Im the biggest chicken when it comes to the dentist. But everyone was kind and calm. Leeanne listened to my concerns and didnt make me feel silly and thoroughly explained everything to me and was so gentle on my cleaning. Dr. Othman didnt make me feel rushed and gave me insight into certain wear on my teeth. Overall I was really impressed.
