Awesome experience here, I needed an emergency tooth extraction and the doc fitted me in, the pricing was excellent and her staff treat you like family. There use to be a time that I could have never imagined giving highmark dental such a poor rating prior to the previous Dr. retiring, however, this is my second experience with Dr. Skiba demonstrating poor service and poor ethical standards to her patients. It always with good patient care standards that you inform your patients what you are doing during treatment and not assume that they just know or even should know ( but to get an attitude with your patient because they are asking questions in concern for things you have not explained is poor medically ethical standards). After having this happen to me personally I canceled all further appointments with her office, but then later thought to myself well everyone make mistakes; so I called back months later and made an appointment for my daughter.
Daughters appointment: upon entering the office the receptionist explained that shell need to go a series questions (no problem); but immediately after answering the questions she points a thermal temperature gun at my daughters head. She didnt inform nor ask (it is again, with best practice to always inform and ask, because despite people not having a problem with their temperature being taken, everyone does not want an infrared scanning of their brain; and it can be taken on the inner wrist). After watching this disregard for my child, I offered her my wrist to take my temperature; but was told she didnt need it. About an hour later another AA patient came in and she did the exact same thing to him except he placed his hand in front of his head. She immediately assumed he was refusing to have his temperature taken and with an attitude went to get Dr. Skiba. The patient stated he was not refusing, however, merely giving you his hand to take his temper. But because you have no respect for your patients values and rights dismissed that client from services. In the medical field we learn three rules of competent care: Evidence based practice: Scientifically driven treatment, 2. Clinical and clinician competency, and 3. Patient values and cultural morals. Without all three you have nothing and your business will not survive. You have not lost one patient, but 7 as of today.

Yesterday, my wife and myself both had cleaning visits. We were concerned since the office had just re-opened after being forced to close (as had all other dental offices) due to the Covid-19 nationwide situation.
We were amazed at the professionalism of the entire staff. Everything was thoroughly cleaned. Our temperature was taken before we were allowed to enter the building. Then we were carefully ushered into the treatment room without touching anything…like doors. All the staff, including Dr Shannon, were properly gowned, masked and gloved. Room air filtration systems were in use in every treatment room as an added precaution.
Our hygienist, Amanda, did a very thorough job of cleaning and polishing our teeth. We never felt like we were being rushed through the process.
I can honestly say that this experience was very comfortable and safe. No one should hesitate in visiting this office for your immediate and future dental needs.

This was my first time coming to a dentist in a number of years. While I was nervous and somewhat reluctant to visit one, I came across this more than exceptional office. There really are no words to express how grateful I am for Dr. Shannon Skiba. She gave my old smile back!!!
For 10 years I wore a bridge that I was not happy with. The front teeth were too wide and I was not happy from day one.
After experiencing several dental problems, with my old bridge, Dr. Skiba was able to come up with some acceptable solutions for me. She extracted all four front teeth and I had me a partial made. She even went out of her way to deliver the impression (Herself) of my teeth to the lab on a Monday, so we would have it on Friday, when she extracted the teeth. I never had to go one day without having my front teeth!! When she put the partial in I could not believe my eyes! My smile looks like it did when I was in my 20s! The teeth all look natural the partial fits perfectly! When I left the dentist office that day, I almost ran in the ditch several times because I could not stop looking in the mirror! She also had me a partial made for my lower teeth in the back. This is the first time that Ive had a full set of teeth, without any pain, in 10 years! I can actually eat all food again!
I am ecstatic about my new smile! Dr. Skiba and her staff all go above and beyond to offer their patients the highest quality of dental care available. They TRULY care about people!! Thanks Highmark Dental For giving me my smile back!

Today I had the most amazing experience. I had an awful toothache, spent the weekend in soooooo much pain. I made an appointment and they got me in fast. The tooth had to be removed..no no pain at all. The tooth was out before I knew it. I will be back for all my dental care. Thanks so much. Heaven sent me an Angel today.
