First time i arrived as a walk in patient i waited for 2.5 hours in waiting room. After being tired of waiting i made an appointment to give them another shot because I$0027d heard such good things. Arrived on appointment date was in and out in hour in half. Doctor was great didn$0027t feel ANY pain during removal and staff is very friendly and all black woman. Made me feel at home and bed side manner was great as well. Should be a way to give 10 stars rating on here.

I$0027ve came to this dentist office in the past and had a tooth extracted. I was a walk in when I had that done and I was only in the office a total of an hour. Everything was done quickly, I was highly satisfied, and the price was great. The reason I am rating this office with 2 stars is because I recently brought a family member here to have some x-rays done and a deep cleaning. This family member has slight delays so I went to the back with her. When I walked past the dentist you could tell that she already was in a bad mood. The eye rolling, huffing and puffing, just a bad vibe overall. My son has Autism and I$0027m assuming he was tired of waiting there so he started having a meltdown. She came out of her office and told me that I needed to go wait in the waiting room. Now I totally understand her saying that if there were a lot of patients in the back getting work done and my son was disturbing them but no there was no one in the back. Literally my family member, my son, and myself. My whole thing is that there was plenty of different ways(better ways) that she could expressed that my son (who can$0027t help the way he acts) was bothering her. Her service is decent and so are her prices but I will not return nor recommend anyone to go this dentist office. If you can$0027t handle the way a certain person acts or behaves then there should be a sign up of some sort stating that.

I was suffering with a toothache and was recommended to Dr. Jones by my son. When I arrived I was greeted with friendly faces and smiles.
I was very impressed with the staff.
Dr. Jones was a very lovely person. She introduced herself to me, looked at the exray and asked what i would prefer to happen. Since this tooth been hurting i immediately said, it has to come out. She said it can be saved, you would have to have a root canal but it can be saved. I said nope, it got to go.
She was very gentle and patience with me as I am very fearful of needles. She talked me thru the needle sticks, letting me know when it would be a stick. When it came time to extract it, she talked me thru the pressure. In no time flat it was out and I didn$0027t even know it. I was not treated different because i had no dental ins. Hell I was paying more than the insurance was paying so I dropped their butts. The fee was well worth it.

Oh hell no! I wouldn$0027t suggest this place to my worst enemy to have ANY dental work done. a couple of years ago I went here to have a wisdom tooth extracted. Now mind you I am not a dentist and was unaware that extracting a wisdom tooth was what you call Oral Surgery. The dentist was very unprofessional. I was in a lot of pain and being already afraid of dentists, I was a little emotional. Instead of the dentist trying to calm me and being reassuring she was angry and frustrated. I heard her and another patient in another room laughing and talking about my situation like my pain and stress was hilarious. the dentist finally came back and was in rush to extract the tooth. She was pulling and yanking on my tooth inpatiently and could not extract it. Finally she basically crush the whole tooth and screamed «Oral Surgery.» All this time I was wide awake. she dug and rooted a hole in the back of my mouth. I sit there for an hour or more why she kept scraping and scraping the hole in the back of my mouth. Finally she was done and told me to go home and take Ibuprofen which she prescribed for me. I did not know that she was supposed to have sutured the hole in my mouth before she sent me home. I cried and rolled in agony for an hour or more when I made it home after the oral anesthetic wore off. It took a couple of hours for my prescription to be filled at the local pharmacy. To make a long story short it took almost two months for my tooth to heal. I developed dry socket and had to go back to the dentist twice to have the tooth looked at.
When I went back to South Dallas smiles the dentist was very angry when she noticed that my tooth was not healing and told me that I had to take better care of it. Now I have had two extractions done before and had never had this problem, but they were not wisdom teeth and did not have to require oral surgery nor sutures which were never used by this doofus. So, I don$0027t know how I was not taking care of it when she was the one who didn$0027t sew me up in the first place! She packed some filler in it and sent me back home. The filler fell out. I was back at a new dentist 2 weeks later crying and in pain. This dentist examined my tooth and told me that it was infected and that she could see my jaw bone. There was pus running out of the back of my mouth. She asked me what happened I explained to her the previous months experience. She told me that the dentist who had did the extraction was supposed to have put me under for the surgery and also sewed up the hole in my mouth. This new dentist was very nice and experienced. She gave me an anesthetic(my mouth was raw by this time from all the shots) packed the hole in my mouth and sewed it back up. She also prescribed me antibiotics for the infection I had set up. I was well within two weeks of that visit.
I was burning up with anger and wanted to sue South Dallas Smiles and their crew of quacks. I$0027m still angry as I write this thinking of all the pain humiliation and prolonged suffering I had to go through dealing with these idiots. Now I tell everybody about South Dallas smiles and my horrible experience at their incompetent hands and try to steer them clear of these bunch of med school drop outs. I$0027d rather go to a third world faith healer other than to deal with these bozos again. Thank God for internet reviews! I$0027m going to continue to spread the word about the bad business at South Dallas Smiles and hopefully no one else will go through the pain or suffering I had to endure at the hands of these butchers.
