My son had to have every tooth pulled including wisdom teeth, he had never had to go through anything like this in his life and was terrified, his Nurse was AMAZING! His dentist that did the extractions was also AMAZING! From start to finish they were so patient and so helpful, we all know a trip to the dentists office can be scary because we fear what we do not know but when you see sharp instruments all over your anxiety increases whether its for you or not. My son had 4 roots on his top wisdom teeth they had to do a more complex surgery and they got everything . He is infection free, and has only had to have two 800mg Motrin. I also like how narcotics arent just written out, Motrin, Tylenol, and frozen baby peas, or gel packs works wonders! These people truly do care about their patients from young to elderly it does not matter this office has a staff that doesnt hate their jobs so badly they take it out on their patients. I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND VAN FAMILY DENTAL! They will be my forever dentists! Bless you all at Van Family, and THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING MY BABY!

They$0027re really nice, however there are SEVERAL issues. They drilled and replaced all my son$0027s fillings. He had extreme discomfort and pain, and was taking tylenol with ibuprofen everyday. They said it was normal. However, weeks later and the pain was still there. They told us he needed 3 molars to be extracted. Something just didn$0027t sit well with me and because of the pain, we chose a different dentist. Turns out they didn$0027t completley fill in a tooth, it had exposed roots. This was causing the pain. Another molar still had a cavity under the filling, bc they didn$0027t remove it, just filled it in. The new dentist said he only needed one of the molars extracted and gave him a root canal on one. The wisdom tooth he said let it come in so he can have a bridge, and it would help fill the space from the ONE tooth tooth that needed extracted, rather than losing all 3 molars on one side like VANN recommended. I get the impression they try to cram in too many patients, and it$0027s like an assembly line.

I was very excited to learn that Dr. Yakeika Vann was accepting children as well as adults. My son had his first ever visit to the dentist and Dr Vann was friendly, understanding and patient with us. Every time I visit I have great experience. I personally go for regular cleaning visits and had my fillings done also here and Dr Vann was happy to keep adjusting them when they didn$0027t feel right. I should start by saying that I have a pretty extensive list of dental problems, and I have only seen them twice. Although the staff is friendly and they have a nice facility, I was not particularly pleased with the treatment I was given. I went in twice to get cleanings and have my fillings looked at as a number of them (from many years ago) have already fallen apart. Both times they were more concerned with taking x rays and crowning my teeth. Neither time was I able to get a proper cleaning, and neither time was anything done to address my aging fillings. As of today, I have already had 2 refilled by other dentists, one of which was one that Dr Vann wanted to crown. Although I understand that treatment decisions vary from practice to practice, it seems to me that Dr Vann is quick to crown teeth, something that I would like to avoid at 27. I was also disappointed that I could not even get a simple cleaning done asap as my teeth clearly need them. I was pleased that they did give me a $0027debridment$0027 cleaning the second time, however, looking in the mirror, it is apparently not a substitute for an actual cleaning.
