I came to Dr. Jean for an emergency toothache about two week ago. I was extremely nervous as it had been YEARS since I went to a dentist. I had a bad experience where I felt the dentist was judging me, and I swore to myself I would not feel like that again… to my detriment.
Anyway, as soon as I came into Premier Smiles, I felt welcomed. Dr. Jean was at the front desk, waiting for me. After filling out the paperwork, I was brought in where my mouth was examined. It was determined I needed my left bottom wisdom tooth pulled. The experience was NOT painful (I was afraid of this). I felt a bit of pressure (which Dr. Jean warned me beforehand), and in about 10 minutes the tooth was out.
I had another appointment today as a new patient, to get an overall baseline of dental health. During my first appointment I expressed I suspected I had periodontal disease. I know genetics play a part in this, and my maternal grandmother and my mother has this. Both had to get all of their teeth removed.
My appointment today confirmed my suspicions, but Cheyenne the dental hygienist was really sweet and informed me of how I will need to take care of my mouth going forward – switching to an electric toothbrush, using Listerine, etc. I had a cleaning above my gums (the name escapes me sorry!), and tomorrow I will have a deep cleaning. I seemed to have caught the disease in the nick of time. I have lost bone, but it$0027s not severe.
Thanks to Premier Smiles, I have a clear path on the necessary steps to achieve good dental health.
I can already see a VAST improvement with my teeth in these short two weeks.
If you (the reader) are nervous/anxious or had a a bad experience with another dentist, I can assure you this will NOT be the case at Premier Smiles. I have found my dental home, and for that I am thankful.

Former patient, was pretty disappointed by the customer service as it relates to booking appointments or paying my bills. 4 out of 5 times nobody picks up the phone and if I left a VM i was never called back. Dr Jean is a great dentist and has a good disposition, his admin team however forced me elsewhere. My children had their appointments Pre COVID so the appts were in August they were there 20min before time and remained thirty min after time and NO ONE ever answered the phone or the door. New furniture, new ambiance, with a really welcoming feel to it. Wait time had decreased exponentially and everyone stayed in communication about delays or time needed for treatment. Worst service I have ever had with any dentist in the Charlotte area. They rescheduled my appointment twice causing me to lose money and time on two different days. At the last minute, meaning the day before my root canal, told me that I needed a 25% deposit for a procedure I was having the next day and I was fully prepared to pay for my procedure when I came in. They cancelled my appointment because they did not collect a deposit two months prior. They booked the appointment, they never told me about a deposit. I wouldve paid it like I paid for any other work I had done there. I dont owe them any money. I dont recommend them at all. Convenient hours but very disorganized. I dont know if they have a corporate office but I will be contacting them as well.

Dr. Jean was AMAZING! I have never had ANY doctor ever take the time to actually get to know me. I don$0027t mean a friendly chat to gather my medical history. Dr. Jean actually sat and had a 10 minute conversation with me. Within the first 5 mins, I knew my mouth was in good hands, lol. He is very down to Earth, yet professional. Courteous and well knowledgeable. He asked me several times throughout my restorative work if I had any questions. I like that! He was able to explain the process in layman$0027s terms. Kudos! I get very anxious in the dentist chair, especially when I know needles and drills are involved; however Dr. Jean was overly patient with me. Surprisingly, I felt very relaxed in his care. So much so, that for the first time ever I FELL ASLEEP while Dr. Jean was working his magic!!! How many people can fall asleep while someone is pulling and tugging at their teeth? That speaks volumes! His office staff were just as professional and courteous. They were just as involved in the whole process. I can$0027t say enough. Don$0027t be discouraged if you don$0027t have dental insurance. They have a Savers Plan that includes preventive work and discounts for a year. They can explain the specifics, but the plan saved me about $500. Win! Thank you Dr. Jean for an incredible experience. I$0027m glad I returned to Premiere Smiles!

I received a crown and had paid in full for services and when leaving the receptionist tried to charge me again. I explained to her that as per their policy I had paid everything during the initial visit and that I had bank statements to prove it. I brought the receipt and she finally called someone to help her. That would have been a costly mistake if I had let her have her way and just went with it. After making it home, the crown fell out. I called the next day and told them I needed it fixed asap, and gave them a time I could come. I have been waiting almost an hour and a half for them to fix it because they didnt put it in well enough. When I told the receptionist I wanted t wait in the car as it states to do on their door, due to COVID restrictions, she seemed upset about it. Hopefully this is the last time I have to ask them to fix this crown. I dont recommend this place @ all.
