So I was born missing 10 permanent teeth. They never grew in and my whole life I was living with gaps in my mouth. I had to make a move and decided to go with Perfect Smile Dental in Tijuana, MX. I have to say it was the best decision I ever made. I had 11 teeth extracted on my lower arch and then 6 implants put in (All-On-6). Not only did it cost less than getting it done in the States but the service was superior to anywhere in the States.
Erick performed the surgery and I can say that it was PAINLESS!
The office staff were SO nice and comforting during the WHOLE process. I am going back next month to get the Final Prosthesis and I am looking forward to it! Also, Perfect Smile Dental had a shuttle driver pick me up at the Border and drop me back off right after! Talk about Convenience! I DO NOT recommend this place. They are kind and all about money. My implant was lose and eventually fell out. I called for them to fix however they requested another $2000 prior to my first payment to fix an issue they shouldn’t have happened on the first place. I have no heard back from them since Dec 2020.

After deciding to go with Perfect Smile–based off of Google Review and their professionalism exhibited via communications–they set up a reasonably fast appointment date as well as the hotel and shuttles.
The trip was a simple 25-minute App share ride from San Diego and a 10-minute walk on foot through the border then viola! Tijuana baby! The shuttle was awaiting me and took me straight to the hotel, Lucerna, which was highly recommended by Dr. Maricela and did not dissappoint.

PHASE 2: Implant Surgery:
The day of the implant surgery I was whisked off directly from the hotel to the privacy of their office. I was greeted by a friendly staff and the atmosphere was that of any caliber seen in the USA; all of the equipment was new and the ambiance very clean and welcoming.
0900 sharp they jumped right to business: CT scan, full dental x-rays, and some comprehensive 2d photographs. If you were worried about sterile technique and infection, don$0027t worry, everything came in sterile packaging and care was taken not to break the field.
My periodontist was a young, diligent lad who took extra precaution during the drilling and used CT guided precision to map the whole process. I had zero swelling and minimum pain thereafter. I was given great care and an easily understandable after-care plan which included 4 different prescriptions. The next day you can opt to get it checked, and day three they will email you to make sure you are well. Simple, stress-free.

(Of note, they use Nobel titanium implants which are Swiss made and top of the line as well as CAD-CAM created crowns all of which are the SAME at most top of the line offices in the USA)

I will say things started off great. Dayma provided good communication and was very responsive. When I arrived at the border my friend and I were picked up by Juan pretty fast after our crossing . There was a couple in the car that had been receiving work for the last few days.

When I got to the clinic we also started soon after my arrival. Things went down hill once we did my impressions and we’re about to get started. The “doctor “ came in for me to sign my treatment form and pay.
The amount was less than I spoke with Dayma about over the phone so I was concerned.

This part was a simple miscommunication but I was already upset about something that happened the night before so it set me over the edge. It was never told to me that I would have to make multiple visits and would not be leaving with what I expected that day. Since I don’t know a lot of people here it was hard for me to find someone to go with me to Mexico. I explained that to Juan and we agreed on the services I would be receiving and I paid.

Once the “doctor” started my first treatment, she was very unprofessional. Playing loud music with foul language in it. She then called in another employee ( the one that did my impressions). They were speaking badly about my teeth in Spanish , assuming because I had on headphones and because I was African-American I didn’t understand what they were saying. I did.

Once my treatments were done. I spoke with Juan about my remaining services and we were taken back to the border by another of their employees (who was very nice.)

Today, when I contacted them about scheduling my return visit ( via text, over 80% of our communication was via text), this is where things got even worse.
I was then told that they do not do the procedure that I asked for and would not be doing it in the near future even though I was shown two different ways that it could be done and they also have a price for it on their website.

I also received this text from their “customer service representative “
“ How will you realize that we are a clinic specialized in dental implants, not in x or y”. Who communicated with customers in this manner?

This experience has been very disappointing. The respect and attention I received in the beginning of the interaction was overshadowed by how rude the “doctor” , the impressionist and “customer service representative “ were to me. And now I have to find a new clinic to receive the services I need done.

Horrible place had two extra teeth extractions that took over an hour to take them out and worst part is that I got an infection they were not willing to take responsibility for. They basically told me go see another doctor! Why should I see another doctor when they gave me the infection in the first place. I payed almost 1,000 dollars for this procedure! We drove from CA for our appointment at 9am. We arrived 15 min earlier. This was our experience:
We walked in and no one say anything to us. We stand in front of the receptionist and apparently his phone was more important. After couple minutes of standing in front them we introduced ourself and told them we had an appointment. Receptionist double checked and told us we will be seen shortly. After 45 minutes they told us someone has to be seen because it was an emergency. After 15 min they came and asked us to make a payment (at this point we haven$0027t been seen yet).
20 min After payment, they called us in to get x-ray and sent us to waiting room again. It was 11 am when we decided to leave.

Our experience has been just wonderful we have been treated as royalty. We felt supported and assisted every single time we went to the clinic. We hardly had to wait and while we were waiting we were cared for very nicely. My husband told me that he did not feel much pain that they were very gentle and cautious when they were treating him. His anesthesiologist and Dr. Omar Espinoza were fantastic. Dr Omar Espinosa was very understanding when it came to finances and the price was very reasonable,, less than half of what we would have spent in the states.
