I had an implant performed by doctor Webber today and it couldnt have gone more smoothly. It was an upper, so there was a sinus lift involved, which at first concerned me. After Dr. Webber explained the procedure and how routine it was, I felt at ease. The whole thing took less than 1/2 an hour and was completely painless. I was a new patient here for my regular 6 month cleaning and examination. The first thing they told me was that my x-rays from less than a year ago were expired (you$0027re supposed to get x rays every year, not 6 months). This was the first red flag they just saw me as a money pit. Then the dentist looks at my teeth and tells me I have 6 cavities I need to get treated. While my most of my questions I asked him about this were responded to vaguely, he did make a certain sense of urgency clear. This was my second red flag as I take great care of my teeth and see a dentist regularly. I got a 2nd and 3rd opinion from my main dentist (in SD) and another in town. Both told me my teeth were totally fine, that this dentist (Becker) was trying to sell stains as cavities, and that from my current condition, some of the spots could develop into cavities in 10 to 20 YEARS!
Also my cleaning was the most painful cleaning I have had since I was a kid when I didn$0027t take care of my teeth. The hygienist said it was because I am not taking good enough care of my teeth. Then why have my 20 cleanings in the last 10 years not hurt like that?

I not only had to have a new porcelain cap placed, but a complete root canal done. I have a phobia of dentists, so was slightly worried about the procedure. No need to. From the numbing shots to the root canal procedure to the cap creation and placement (all done in one visit. Left with my permanent cap); there was virtually no pain or discomfort. I was visiting from New York and lost my crown eating taffy. I found this practice on my cell phone. Dr. Becker stayed open late to see me right away. He made a new temporary crown for me and I was able to continue on with my vacation. His office staff were awesome. The women at the front desk could not have been more friendly and helpful. My experience with Santa Barbara Dental Care has always been professional and the team is considerate and attentive to my questions and concerns. I ususally ask a lot of questions about procedures, methods, costs, etc, partly due to my curious nature. They are always happy to answer, including my questions prior to my visit today regarding COVID19 preparations.
While I understand people are apprehensive about medical and dental care procedures right now due to COVID19, I can tell you I felt completely comfortable and protected during my visit. Of course the visit was great as usual, and they even accomodated a request to combine two procedures in one visit to save me a second trip.

Went here to get an implant based on many recommendations however had a very frustrating experience. Dr Weber is the most arrogant and rude doctor I have ever met. During the consultation he was very abrupt and reluctant to answer any questions which was very frustrating . I was going to spend 5K and more in this office and was seeing him for the first time yet he didnt care to pretend being a bit nice to a new patient. He told me I need to see hygienist as my teeth were in a horrible state while I did cleaning a month ago. This was the first red flag! Additionally he said that I need to extract my wisdom teeth and many of my other teeth are in critical condition, which was not the case a month ago when I went for examination . So overall he tries to create urgency to get as much money as he can from you. During the second Appointment he left me in the chair without apologizing or telling anything when I have told him I cant do extraction because I cant take antibiotics, which I have called and confirmed before appointment that I will not need. While front desk may be inexperienced, he is definitely unprofessional to treat his patients in this way. I will never come back and will not recommend anyone seeing him.

After deciding it was the right thing for me to do, we had a couple preliminary appointments to get all the details worked out. Today I finally got the implant mounts installed. Dr. Joe told me it would be pain free and would not interfere with my day tomorrow. I was skeptical. I opted to have local anesthesia only. We started at 3 o$0027clock this afternoon, and finished at 5 o$0027clock. Other than a few shots of novocain for the procedure, I have not needed any pain medication! I had six implants installed in my upper jaw. Initially there was a little pressure at the implant sites, but now at 8 o$0027clock this evening, it is amazing! Right back to normal, honestly. Dr. Joe was so confident during the procedure that really set my mind at ease, this is going to be a life changing event. His assistant Robert was great and really attentive to both the doctor and the patient, very professional. I can$0027t wait for the implants to heal up and get my new set of choppers! It has been a week today since I got them removed and my gums are almost completely healed! Dr. Weber has a very efficient process that is pretty much pain free (just a little soreness the next day) and he does a great job at providing recommendations on how to have an easy recovery.
I would recommend this place for any dental work, the staff are very professional and know me by name everytime I walk through their door despite me being a new patient
