First appointment for a check up and a cleaning and it will definitely NOT be the last! Already scheduled follow up appointments! Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly and made me feel comfortable and at ease (in the midst of a pandemic)! The entire team, starting from setting up my appointment (which I did online initially) all the way until I walked out of the office were EXCELLENT! The office and exam room were impeccable and I felt safe the entire time. They were thorough and professional and exceeded my expectations in every area. I highly recommend Long Island Dental Excellence, Dr. Rechter and his entire team. Convenient parking and an elevator which are also important.

Due to Covid and the pandemic lockdown, then my own health challenges last year, I just returned to the office to continue the care and treatment we discussed previously. I was nervous to return again because I know I need a lot of work and have been ashamed of my mouth for most of my life, but they never judge here. From the time I called to make an appointment until I walked out of the office after my appt, the reception staff, Dr Rechter, and the hygienist Denise were all professional, kind, patient, gentle. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I had to max out my credit card because of these dishonest people. At first everything was fine going to see Dr. Spilberg. They accepted my insurance and I felt like they did a great job examining my teeth and filling in cavities. Then I started working for the city and my insurance didnt pay for me to see Dr. Spilberg anymore. Instead of going to a FREE dentist paid for by my job I decided to purchase dental insurance out of pocket to continue seeing my dentist. Thats how much I trusted this dentist and Long Island Dental Excellence. So I called asked what insurances Dr. Spilberg took and they told me Cigna and Delta Dental. Cigna was cheaper so I signed up for the insurance and started paying it monthly. I then called, made an appointment and gave my insurance over the phone. I was so happy everything was working out. I saw the dentist for a routine exam and scheduled a new visit for some fillings because I had cavities. I paid nothing when I left. I then came the next week to fill my cavities and when I walked out they told me I owed for the exam. They made me pay $135 for a free exam and said thats what my insurance was charging. So I call them thinking this must be a mistake and find out Dr. Spilberg was OUT OF NETWORK….So they let me come in for an exam and told me to fill my cavities only to tell me I owe after. The cavities were over $600. I was livid. They didnt bother to tell me my insurance was out of network and had me see the dentist not once but twice. After demanding to speak with someone all the could do was knock off $100 because it was coming out of Dr. Spilbergs pocket… Thanks for maxing out my credit card for a routine exam and 3 fillings. One more thing, they are neglectful. I had complained of tooth pain that lasted for months after I cavity was filled. They kept telling me to wait. I wait and the next dentist tells me I need a root canal and a crown. DONT EVER GO TO LONG ISLAND DENTAL EXCELLENCE. They dont care about your health. They care about getting money from you.
