Eleven months ago, I start caring for my elderly brother, who has dementia. Since I became his caregiver, many of my needs had to set aside. That included my semi annual visits to the dentist.
Many of the staff at Tanglewood Dental were aware of the situation with my brother and understood why I wasnt coming in as frequently. Ever so often, Id receive a lovely text reminding me I was overdue visit and set appointment when I could. I really just had too much to on my plate. I have as overwhelmed. I didnt wish to make an appointment that the likelihood of me being able to keep was ridiculously low.
Not too long ago, I received another one of those lovely texts from Tanglewood Dental. This time it really caught my – it been well over a year since weve seen you. Yikes! Panic set in – how awful my smile must look! Are my teeth on a downhill climb?
So I made my appointment, hoping I wouldnt need to cancel. I didnt and when I arrived, I received the most welcoming words from Dr. VanZant, the front office and my hygienist. How are you, hows your brother…? But you know the best part, both the hygienist and Dr. VanZant took extra time with me discussing my teeth and making sure my mouth and throat were healthy and that I left without any concerns.
To tell you the truth, it was wonderful being the center of attention for a change. Thank you Tanglewood Dental. See you in 6 months!!!
