This was my first time going to Dr Lokensgard office (Center for Holistic dentistry) and my LAST! Going to the dentist during a pandemic you want to feel comfortable and reassured that the office is doing all they can to keep everyone safe. However, walking into the office my first inpretion was bad and it only got worse. The receptionist and no one else in the front of the office where wearing face masks. Only myself, one other patient, and two hygienists where wearing a mask in the whole office ( that I seen). In the reception aria there was no hand sanitizer to use and only one sign saying that if you cough you «may» be asked to wear a mask or cover your mouth. After a few minutes I decided I didn$0027t feel comfortable and went to the front desk to tell them I was going to have to cancel my appointment. I told the receptionist in these words » I am going to have to cancel my appointment because of the face mask situation». She immediately cut me off and said «the face mask ruling for the county was lifted last Friday and so they did not need to wear them». I told here that I understood that however I did not feel comfortable having my teeth done as I had medical problems as did my family and didn$0027t want to take the chance of being exposed. I did not feel respected for my views the way I was treated. If a medical office dose not care to wear masks during a pandemic it makes you question how seriously they take the pandemic and cleanliness. I was initially excited when a friend referred this dentist to me. She had a lot of lovely things to say about Dr Thom and I admit that the two times I met him, he seemed like a thoughtful dentist. Unfortunately, my bad experience was with Dr Warren and because of her, I will not be returning.
I had a wonderful hygienist but when I met with Dr Warren initially, she promised to provide me with several options and asked me to reschedule at a later date to provide her more time to research the information. The date for my follow-up appointment came and when I met with Dr Warren, it was as if she had never seen me. There were no plans or options. Nothing. In fact, she began to ask the exact same questions she asked me initially. I began to get annoyed because she asked questions that I found impossible to answer eg what type of work do you want done? I really didnt know which is why she was supposed to provide me with options. She then asked me: I sense you are annoyed at this moment? That took me aback. I didnt respond but if I had I would have said yes, I am very annoyed. I took off of work, drove 2.5 hours, and you didnt deliver on what you promised. Everything she told me she could have covered in the initial visit. Her attitude was dismissive and condescending. I would not feel comfortable letting her do work.
Even though I was looking for a holistic dentist, I will forego returning to this office. Ive seen a lot of dentist but will say this one was the most disappointing.

My husband and I went to Dr Thom for mercury removal-the care and compassion we received was phenomenal! My husband had two huge health benefits from his removal. I have had great benefits too. I used to have severe abdominal pain after dental cleanings due to the stirring up of the mercury. I have not had any since coming to Dr Thom. My chronic back pain has greatly subsided also! I am so happy to find a holistic dentist in network! I went in for a routine teeth cleaning and really enjoyed it. The office is beautiful and clean. The staff, including Dr. Thom were friendly, welcoming, and very thorough. I$0027m so happy I found a dentist that utilizes safe practices! I felt very comfortable here and would highly recommend it! I inquired about a procedure (having my permanent retainer removed) and they promptly gave me a price but did not pressure me to get it done. I was told that masks are optional and the ionizer in the waiting room kills bacteria. I pointed out that Covid was a virus and was told oh yes, it kills that too. Waiting room was getting most people not wearing masks in there.
I$0027m very disappointed that a dental office of all places was not taking more precautions. I walked out of the waiting room as i did not feel too confident that this office is doing what i think it should with what is happening during this pandemic.
I would have given a much higher review but I am now no longer a patient and I will look for a dentist that cares more about the spread of Covid virus!
If you are a no masker then I$0027m sure you won$0027t care but I am not and I do care!
When I mentioned this on Facebook everyone who responded said their dentists were taking precautions and no other dentist seemed to be having patients waiting in waiting rooms with no masks. Mandate says masks should be worn in public places!
